This non-fiction children’s book pitch focuses on UK wading birds, incorporating interactive elements to better engage the reader. Through pull tabs, transition tabs and pop-ups, these 3 spreads explore how wildlife can be made all the more exciting! In the midst of species decline and habitat loss, it’s crucial that children and adults alike are well informed when it comes to the natural world so they can appreciate it and be more mindful about the importance of conservation and education. This project is inspired by my local estuary in Hayle, Cornwall, and all of the wonderful waders that reside there! The original illustrations for these spreads are made from painted-paper collage.
